Συλλογή 002: Orchid Exhibit - National Portrait Gallery 03.24.2019
I must admit I was not a big fan of orchids. Rachel and I have had over the years conversations about flowers where she expressed her admiration and affinity for orchids and peonies (we are still debating the latter). I, a strong advocate for roses and carnations.
So, we visited the exhibit. I was truly impressed at how much detail one can see and how diverse these flowers are. I spent an hour shooting away. About a week later, I was reading a post on Brainpickings on O'Keeffe and after the exhibit I must say there was an appreciation for her work. Oh, forgot to mention that I had no idea who O'Keeffe was until Rachel mentioned her work at the exhibit. Here are some sample close ups.
