Συλλογή 014: Eyes
In a recent visit at the National Gallery of Art, we spent some time in the East Wing, the contemporary part of the gallery. As we looked at the Modigliani collection (https://www.nga.gov/collection/artist-info.1722.html) , I was somehow drawn to the subjects' eye expression. Amedeo Modigliani was an Italian painter and sculptor known for the elongated style of his portraits. While fascinated by the unique style of painting, for some reason I was drawn to the eyes. It could be that we have spent over two years, wearing masks and our eyes were our only guide to one's emotions, feelings, thoughts. As I looked over the paintings, without context, I tried to guess... So, can you? Here they are.
